Summary
|
The Imperial Defense Platform (IDP) was an armed space defense stationary platform used by the Galactic Empire around 3 ABY.Deployed in strategic locations around critical locations such as shipyards or refueling stations, IDPs were formidable opponents to anyone attempting to penetrate restricted areas. Armed with two rapid-fire quad laser cannons that covered a 360-degree area, IDFs could quickly destroy starfighters and medium starships. Due to their disc-like shape, IDFs presented a minimal profile to attackers, making them very difficult to destroy. Multiple IDFs working in coordination with each other were a highly effective method of protecting critical Imperial installations from pirates and other insurgents. |
